Frienship : some rules to keep in mind

You won’t mess with your friend’s boyfriend or ex-boyfriend
We will always respect each other
We won’t spill each other secrets even in time of war

Here are some commandments of the friendship code.

Setting friendship rules goes through several steps: respect, trust, love, reciprocity, compromises and so on. We always keep calling everyone our “homies” but it is very important to know who our real friends are. Sometimes the worst relationships are the ones we are involved in. Identifying the persons that we can’t call our friends, is the real secret. This is what you need to keep a true long relationship and it would avoid you long term troubles.

Let’s enumerate these (GOLDEN) principles

TRUST

Choose your friends wisely in order not to waste your time and energy. Someone that doesn’t hesitate to stab you in your back every time is absolutely not your friend. Even someone you can’t trust or you think he can’t keep your secrets doesn’t deserve to be by your side.

THE SUPPORT

It has to be mutual. Friendship is the result of sharing values and common visions but is also a lot of investment. If it is not the case then sorry to tell you that you need to let this relationship go away because it will become hurtful at some point. You have to put some distance from people who never supports you and keep you away from your personal achievements. Be careful, supporting someone does not mean that you have to take all their problems.

RECIPROCITY

This is a fundamental principal. If you want your friend to pay you attention you have to do the same with them. On the other hand a person who is unable to have your back doesn’t deserve to be by your side. Of course it is not about having a give and take relationship but at least to know that your friend is able to do the same sacrifices as you. Stop crossing oceans for people who are not willing to cross a puddle for you.

LOYALTY

In a friendship relationship, loyalty is one of the most important condition. A person who has no trouble betraying you, talking badly about you or even denigrating you and keep disappointing you is certainly not your friend. Make sure to avoid people who are constantly in the judgment. The so-called friends who are always criticizing (even for laughter) … be aware of it like the plague! Sincerely, there is nothing but absolutely nothing funny in destroying a person’s image.
