Meet the creator of the brand Sinaï Yaba

We are back with an article featuring a talented designer named Sinaï Yaba. We had the fortunate opportunity to meet her in person… so without any further ado, let’s get the “goods” on her from her!
1- Description of Sinaï Yaba: What is Sinaï Yaba?
Sinaï Yaba is a “Ready-to-Wear” clothing brand for women, combining French chic fashion with an African touch. To sum up the concept of her brand we could use three words: “solidarity fashion, available to any women”.
To better understand her designs check out her new collection named “la Nouvelle Parisienne”.
2- Who are you?
I am Sinaï Umba Di-Yaba, I am 29 years old and I am the founder of the brand. I have an atypical career because I am also working as a Télécom engineer. Creating my own brand, conveying my own values has always been my dream.
3- In three words, how would you describe Sinaï Yaba?
Afro-Parisian, solidarity, conscious.
4- How did you come up with this idea of creating this brand?
I felt that for me something was missing in fashion. We were missing a strong brand with an identity that would embody the French woman and her elegance from the 21st century. My goal is not to dress up a certain body type, a type of beauty, but rather a state of mind suited for an independent women, free, open to discover the world, curious, a traveler and in love with fashion but always trying to differentiate herself from others. So for me, blending Africa and Paris was just the logical choice.
5- What is the special feature of the brand?
It’s not just a simple “Ready-to-wear” clothing brand for women, or just a trendy brand. I would say that “giving a sense to the fashion” is our guiding principal of the brand Sinaï Yaba. I want to give an experience to women who wear my clothes. That’s why we are more focus on the quality than the quantity and especially on fabrics that have a story behind. We have a perfect illustration of this with the new collection that highlights clothes that reflect the emancipation of women thank to the occident outfit.
6- Why are you using the name of Sinaï Yaba?
It is a shorter version of my name: Sinaï Umba Di-Yaba.
I use my name in order to remind me about everyone in my circle that helped me creating this project. Sinaï Yaba is a step in to my creative world.
7- How can we get the clothes?
“Very easy actually” as you can order them online at www.sinaiyaba.com. From the 5-15th of December, people can come and try the clothes of the collection “la nouvelle parisienne” during the Parisian showroom with an invitation. Please book your invitation on our website.
A private Christmas sale will start the 16th of December in a partisan ephemera shop.
We have been really impressed by the different outfits from this designer as we try some of these incredible outfits ourselves.
Today we are wearing a mixed Kin and MJ blazers. They are totally lined with very good quality workmanship. We are in love!
