Make new with the old

Hello guys,

We are back with a topic that we are sure affects many of us (we could almost talk about a curse lol): clothes in our wardrobe we didn’t manage to wear or can’t wear anymore.

We all have this kind of item in our dressing that we can’t bare just at sight for some reasons.

We have listed several ones just for y’all (isn’t life great…?)

1- The cloth you worn a million times (true story lol). When you bought it, it was like the big crush. THE item you really needed to complete a fleeky outfit… then you get tired of it.

2- The garment you bought on a whim and cost you an eye. Yet, you just worn it a couple of time or even never put it (with the label that is still hung lol).

3- The one that has remained for years at the bottoooom of the closet (please admit it, we are not the only ones in that case 😉 but don’t want to get rid of it, thinking that it could be useful one day.

4- Clothes that were offered to us as a present on a special occasion (Birthday or Christmas). You know… this “original” piece that we don’t really like but since it is a gift, we would feel guilty to throw out.

5- And finally that clothe you never found how to wear it. We mean, the one you tried once in the morning but … finally, you decided to wear your basic piece that suits with everything.

You will probably say: find a new way to wear to those old clothes, ok but how?

– Try to seek some inspiration in case of breakdowns. There are a million way to get inspired. You can find it in the streets, on social medias (pinterest, instagram), fashion shows, magazines, our blog (joke)… Probably someone has a similar piece as yours and wears it differently.
It is not a question of copying someone’s dress style but of being inspired. Everyone get its inspiration from somewhere and add a personal touch (don’ worry about that).

– Dare the changing. Sometimes, you just need to get one or two new pieces (accessories, trendy items…) to revive your old one. You will feel like you’re dressed differently, you can trust us.

– « Do It Yourself (DIY) ». This goes to creative people! Don’t hesitate to customize your clothes (Embroidered patch to stick, changing buttons…). You don’t have anything to lose since you didn’t wear them anyway lol 😉

– Finally, try to see your clothes with a whole new dimension. Play with what you already have. You could, for instance, wear a long skirt as a high waisted skirt with a belt or wear your big sweater off the shoulder.
Practice the art of layering which consists in superposing clothes with style.

There are so many ways to make new with the old. Just choose yours 😉
