Hello EVERYBODY…!
This summer we had the chance to go to Ivory Coast for the summer holidays. We took the opportunity to have a little break in Assinie, which is a tiny ivorian village located in the south-west of the country. To go through the 80 km that separed Abidjan from Assinie, we travelled in a local conveyance called « gbaka » which is a mini « mini » bus very friendly (the least we can say lol). Nothing better for travelling in the ivorian way.
Often called Assinie Mafia, the locality, is first of all a little village where the locals live mainly by fishing and selling. Later, partly thanks to the famous song of Alpha Blondy (a well-known artist in Africa) which extolled the merits of the beautiful area, were built luxurious villas, straw huts and hotels (we have to admit that it’s a dream location to settled down; palmtrees and awesome sand, what else can you ask for?)
Yes ! Assinie is filled of hotels which will allow you to spend a very great time and there are so many.
The choice is all yours. Without a doubt, while we are writing this article, at least 1 or 2 hotels are openning up their door.
First, we chose a little hotel called «Assinie Logde» recommended by a friend of us, then we went to the most famous Hotel in Assinie Mafia: « the Coucoué Lodge».
We couldn’t wait to leave the city to reach Assinie’s beaches. To be honest with you guys, it became a real obsession, the number ONE subject of our conversations (joke), we kept talking about it for soooo long.
The beach … a wonderful little paradise (no overstatement at all) reachable by the lagoon ABY, by boat, canoe or even by car.
A magical place with so much energy. The sand is so white and particularly soft to the point that our feet melted in it so easily. The horizon is completely clear of sight to kilometers around. The palmtrees which are different colours and shapes offer such a calm and perfect landscape.
Guys, imagine that kind of clean and pure water you can hardly resist to dive in.
Now, we are sure you understood how Assinie is a relaxing place. It is a wonderful place where you can watch amazing sunsets.
